The suggester says: "I could go on about good composition, good colors, etc. etc. etc. But really? This is just an awesome piece. Reason enough in my eyes."

Description

I finished it I finished it! I've been working on this Fire nation piece for over 4 months. I've had so many people at conventions ask me when this was going to be done, and I kept having to tell them "I'm working on it, I swear!"

The fire nation has my favorite characters, so I originally wanted it to be a really awesome piece. I had the most trouble with Zuko, because he's my favorite he kept coming out retarded looking. I hope you all enjoy the evil cunning of Azula. I used to have Mai and Ty Lee in the corners, but that made the piece a bit too busy :( Sorry couldn't fit everyone!

I had to put Ran & Shaw in there because the Firebending masters is the best episode of the entire show.

Check out the rest of my Avatar series:

This is incredible. The colors are fantastic, and the composition is strong. I especially love swishes of fire around Zuko and Azula--they really bring my eye from the foreground to the background.
The impact of this painting is very strong. However, after looking closer, I noticed some possible places for improvement. I wish that Zuko's head didn't cut off part of the blue dragon's face; Iroh is much more centered between the dragons and the stairs.
The dragons themselves are great on first glance, but after looking closer, I wonder if they're missing limbs.
The stairs leading up to Azula look somewhat flat, but I suppose that adding too much detail would detract fromthe main subjects of the picture, as the characters look great-- although Azula's hair pieces are overwhelming her face and Iroh appears a tad meaner-looking than usual.
Overall, though, this is a really strong and beautiful piece!
