I'm uploading something now so you all don't think I've died. I've been working hard on artwork this past winter, but most of this time has been client pieces that I can't show anyone.
So this is an FLCL piece I've been noodling with for about 3 months now and I'm just stuck. I don't dislike it, but I'm not in love with the composition either. Every time I work on it now I just can't make any progress. I go around in circles. I look at it, and the mood I wanted to capture is not there. It doesn't say FLCl to me. FLCL is over the top zaniness with undertones of melancholy. I think I'm done with this particular piece. I'm abandoning it. I want to start over a new FLCL piece to make posters of for the upcoming convention season.

This is why it's so much harder for me to work on pieces from series I love ;_;

But it looks so gooooood. D: I think the main composition issue I see is that hole in the middle, which could be fixed by bringing the car and Kanti a little closer to the center.

lol I have the same problem with series that I love. If you find the time though, your should come back to it because it really is looking excellent. To bring more of the "over the top zaniness", you might try making the outlines more bold
